The Band

The Lord Lucan Band was formed at the end of 2007, this came about because of several discussions about music between Cliff Brown, 2nd Guitar (Sudbury), and Steve Hale vocals (Sudbury), while working together, the initial idea was to form a band to raise money for charity, and to have fun playing Rock & Blues classics that they liked and hoped audiences would also like.

Experienced musicians Tony Mumford Drums (Haverhill) and Fred Rayner Bass (Sudbury), were brought in to provide the rhythm section and backbone of the band, these previously being in a band with Cliff years earlier, with the addition of the young and dynamic guitarist Richard Stocker Lead Guitar (Thetford), this completed the line up, a combination of youth and experience. This gave the Lord Lucan Band the sound they were looking for, we call it "Lucanisation".

After 4 gigs and raising over £2000 for charity, every venue they played at asked to book them back, and other venue's followed.

In 2008 Ashley Beetson Bass & Vocals (Haverhill) was brought in to cover for Fred Rayner, this added extra vocals to the line up and Ash has been a regular member of Lucan during 2008-2009.

The Lord Lucan Band have had great reviews from gigs they have played, being described as "ousing class", "great band", "great fun", and "wow what a sound", to quote but a few, with one venue stating "best band to have played there during 2008".

The story continues through 2009 with many dates booked at venues in Suffolk, Essex, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, and the 1st CD to be released in summer 2009. Long may the lucanisation of audiences continue.
